Association ProfileThe New Zealand National Flooring Association (NFA) was incorporated in February 2000 and is the pre-eminent business association representing the flooring industry of New Zealand.Membership is open to all involved in the flooring industry; manufacturers, importers, wholesalers, retailers and installers of all forms of floor covering.
NFA ObjectivesWe undertake programmes, actions and initiatives that promote and benefit the advancement of the flooring industry both collectively and for members individually. Specifically these programmes involve:
NFA Membership Includes
The New Zealand National Flooring Association (Inc) has a comprehensive
membership service delivery structure in place. This comprises a highly
skilled and experienced executive committee who are able to combine
NFA'S Commitment to TrainingA major aim of the NFA is the development of professional skills and attitudes across the wider industry. As such, the association has an ongoing commitment to education within the industry at the installer, retailer and distributor levels. In real terms, this commitment is expressed through significant financial support for training organised through the New Zealand Flooring Industry Training Organisation (Flooring ITO) Ongoing education through the Flooring ITO provides industry members with meaningful programmes of learning that add value to flooring businesses across New Zealand. In addition, training programmes offered through the Flooring ITO ensure the ongoing development of skill levels for the industry. Current qualifications offered by the Flooring ITO have been designed to reflect current and future needs of the industry. As an example, through the National Certificate in Flooring, industry members gain valuable skills and knowledge of resilient flooring, retail skills, substrate preparation, soft flooring, fine sanding and applied finishes and wood flooring.
Looking to the future, the NFA has clearly identified the need for industry
members to be better prepared to meet the challenges of running competitive
and successful businesses. Accordingly, the Flooring ITO is currently
developing business management training to meet this demand. This training
which will be available towards the end of 2002, will provide professional
